Conf. dr. Paul Sârbescu este cadru didactic titular din 2015 (asociat din 2008) al Departamentului de Psihologie din cadrul Facultății de Sociologie și Psihologie a UVT. A studiat psihologia (nivel licență și master) la UVT și a obținut doctoratul în psihologie în anul 2013 la Universitatea din București. A obținut abilitarea în psihologie în anul 2018 la UVT. Principalele sale interese de cercetare se încadrează în aria Psihologiei Transporturilor, vizând comportamentul periculos în trafic.

Psihologia transporturilor: diferențe inter-individuale și variație intra-individuală a comportamentului în trafic, aplicații ale teoriei procesării duale (explicit vs. implicit) privind comportamentul în trafic, metode non self-report pentru măsurarea comportamentului în trafic.
